Join Fabio Morabito (U of A) in a conversation with William Cheng (Dartmouth College). An avid gamer and lifelong pianist-improviser, Cheng works at the intersections of cultural histories, disability studies, media theories, care ethics, race, and queerness. He is the author of Loving Music Till It Hurts (Oxford 2019) a powerful book on the complex dynamics of love of music and persons in our historical moment.
Come to discover Professor Cheng's latest research directions in this discussion on "Ways Back to Loving Music". Stay for the wine, and to connect with the U of A music community. The next day, Professor Cheng will deliver the Keynote paper for this year’s Graduate Music Conference. This Questions About Music will be an opportunity to get to know his longer career trajectory and projects.
There is no charge to attend. Reception to follow (U of A faculty, staff, students and invited guests).
This talk will be live-streamed on the Questions about Music YouTube Channel. For more information, email: quamusic@ualberta.ca
