Bentley Lecture in Sustainable Agriculture
Each year the ß÷ßäÉçÇø invites a speaker of international renown to present current research and updates in areas relating to soil science, agricultural production methods, and sustainable agriculture in honour of Professor Fred Bentley.
Fashion Culture Network
The Fashion Culture Network is dedicated to celebrating the idea of style and the appreciation of textiles through an open network of ß÷ßäÉçÇø academic experts, staff, students, and the public. Hosted through the department of Human Ecology.
Livestock Gentec Annual Conference
An annual event that brings together researchers, producers, industry and government representatives to discuss the latest advances in and applications of livestock genomics.
Western Canadian Dairy Seminar
Held every year in Red Deer, this annual event brings together dairy producers, extension specialists, researchers and dairy service and supply representatives together to share the latest research results. The seminar is regarded as the best of its kind in North America.
Clothing Repair Café
Did you know that wearing your clothes for longer is the most impactful way to reduce fashion's carbon footprint? Sometimes, in order to wear your clothes for longer, they need to be repaired or altered, so the Human Ecology Clothing Repair Café offers tips and training for mending garments.
Banff Pork Seminar
The Banff Pork Seminar is a yearly technology transfer meeting for the pork industry. It offers a view to the future in its plenary sessions and practical "take home" information in its breakout sessions
Empey Lecture
The Empey Lecture is delivered annually in honour of Dr. Elizabeth Empey. Human Ecology hold public lectures are delivered on issues related to Family Science, Material Culture, Clothing & Textiles, or Nutrition.
Forest Industry Lecture Series
The Forest Industry Lecture Series (FILS) began and was developed as a collaborative event by members of the “forestry community” in ß÷ßäÉçÇø to enrich the Forestry Program at the ß÷ßäÉçÇø.
Ronald O. Ball Lectureship in Food & Agriculture
Ronald O. Ball has generously supported this lecture with the Ronald O Ball Lectureship in Food & Agriculture Fund. This fund allows the ß÷ßäÉçÇø to invite an excellent speaker to campus who will appeal to many audiences, faculty members, students, alumni, media, professional agrologists, and the general public.
J.G. O’Donoghue Memorial Lecture
The J.G. O’Donoghue Memorial Lecture established in 1981 honours the late Dr. O’Donoghue, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Government of ß÷ßäÉçÇø. The lectures are given every 2 to 3 years by outstanding veterinarians or scientists to University ß÷ßäÉçÇø students – primarily in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences – and in Saskatoon to veterinary students at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.
