Net Impact

Our Mission

Net Impact's mission is to inspire, educate, and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world. As a member of Net Impact, you enlarge your professional network with other like-minded individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to corporate social responsibility. Our events and professional development help our members put their beliefs into action through sustainability efforts, leading to increased sustainability job opportunities after graduation.

The club is centred around providing group-oriented pro-bono consulting services to non-profit organizations in the Edmonton area throughout the academic year. These organizations typically focus on addressing social causes and/or environmental sustainability. Our consulting projects offer students the opportunity to experience the world of management consulting, along with industry guidance from our partner, KPMG.

These projects allow students to explore the consulting world, gain a better understanding of issues facing the community, and apply business acumen to help non-profit organizations prosper. Through Net Impact, students make a meaningful contribution to social and environmental sustainability in the Edmonton area.

Past Projects

Connect Society - Funding Diversification & Partnerships
Connect Society is a non-profit that supports Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and DeafBlind individuals across ß÷ßäÉçÇø through programs like early intervention, family support, and literacy. This project delivered a clear plan to reduce grant dependence by adding CSR partnerships, community event revenue, digital fundraising, and fee-for-service offerings aligned to accessibility.
Queer & Trans Health Collective - Financial Sustainability Plan
The Queer & Trans Health Collective (QTHC) is a community-led group serving 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities. This project set up a simple revenue engine built around a monthly speaker series, sponsorships, and light internal comms capacity, with ready-to-use outreach to launch quickly.
Waste Free Edmonton - Volunteer & Funding Strategy

Waste Free Edmonton is a grassroots, volunteer-driven organization focused on reducing waste at the source through public engagement, school outreach, and municipal advocacy. This project provided targeted volunteer pipelines, plug-and-play communications, and a shortlist of aligned funding sources to grow programming sustainably.

Women Building Futures - Market Expansion (Prince Albert, SK)
Women Building Futures supports women entering skilled trades and leadership roles. This project produced an expansion case for Prince Albert, outlining community fit, priority employer partners, mobile training access, and the first steps/resources for a pilot.
Fort Chipewyan Métis Nation - Travel Policy & Allowable Expenses

The Fort Chipewyan Métis Nation serves community, cultural, and operational objectives in the region; this engagement standardized travel through a clear policy and “allowable expenses” framework to ensure fair, timely, and accountable reimbursements. The policy defines who’s covered, what’s eligible, and how claims are authorized and reviewed.
