U of A Clare Drake Arena

Located on North Campus, the Clare Drake Arena is home to the Golden Bears and Pandas Varsity Athletic Teams, as well as numerous Campus & Community Recreation programming.

In 1990, the Varisty Ice Arena was renamed in honor of Clare Drake, named the most successful coach in Canadian Interuniversity Sport in men's hockey; former ice hockey player and coach (Edmonton Oilers (WHA), ß÷ßäÉçÇø Golden Bears). In his 28 years as the Head coach of the ß÷ßäÉçÇø Golden Bears ice hockey team, he coached the Bears to 6 University Cup Championships and 17 Canada West Conference Championships.
