Recent Policy Update
The previous Discrimination, Harassment + Duty to Accommodate Policy has been separated into two policies, the Discrimination and Harassment Policy and the Accommodation Policy, along with respective procedures for students, faculty and staff.
The ß÷ßäÉçÇø strives to foster a safe and respectful working and learning environment that supports the dignity of all members of our community. The university is committed to a working and learning environment that is free from harassment and discrimination, and one that ensures that the university can meet its legal obligations and ethical responsibilities as an institution of higher learning. These legal and ethical responsibilities include the duty to accommodate and the provision of opportunities to persons who require accommodation based on a protected ground.
Discrimination and Harassment Policy
The purpose of this policy is to protect and ensure a safe and respectful working and learning environment. This policy establishes general responsibilities related to discrimination and harassment and specific procedures which apply where a disclosure or formal complaint of discrimination or harassment is brought against a member of the university community.
The Discrimination and Harassment Policy is accompanied by two procedures:
Accommodation Policy
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the university fulfills its duty to provide reasonable accommodations for individuals who would experience discrimination in a protected area because of a protected ground. This policy describes the university’s duty to provide reasonable accommodations and duty to inquire, and outlines responsibilities in the accommodation process as well as available on-campus supports.
