TRSI Hub — Research
In conjunction with education and engagement, the Hub will catalyze research collaboration and knowledge sharing, with a focus on interdisciplinarity. The Hub will advance the study of social research methodology through multi- method and cross-disciplinary synergies. The Hub has been developing a foundation for this work through a Methods Seminar Series and through a new project to support interdisciplinary research, entitled Crafting Interdisciplinary Research Collaborations and Approaches (CIRCA).
CIRCA
The CIRCA project will offer a series of workshops available to faculty, research administrators, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate researchers. CIRCA will work with Institutes and Centres across the university to help build an interdisciplinary research ecosystem to help prepare researchers from diverse disciplines, expertise, and lived experiences to practice interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary (i.e., beyond multidisciplinary) approaches to designing research.
Research Partnerships
At the moment, co-Directors lead several large and important research projects that can be linked to the TRSI Hub. In the KIAS Advancing Social Research Methods Seminar Series, speakers discuss how they apply different research methods in their work and share instructional materials regarding how to conduct research in that manner. Research partnerships with academics, government, and community organizations will make for a rich research environment at the Hub. The Hub will provide a place to anchor many on-going research projects at the university.
Knowledge Mobilization
The Hub supports knowledge mobilization and research dissemination in many forms. The Hub will disseminate research through a working paper series, linkages with the iiQM journal, and seminars, while also building interest and expertise in creative forms of knowledge sharing for reaching various audiences and publics.
