Experiential Learning in Law Fund

With your support, we can shape the future of legal education in ß÷ßäÉçÇø.

The Faculty of Law’s Experiential Learning in Law fund will provide students with diverse opportunities to develop practical competencies, including legal drafting, client interviewing skills, and advocacy, while supporting increasing access to legal services to communities that typically lack access to justice. The faculty’s experiential learning programming will allow students to explore a variety of areas of law and possible career paths, while building lifelong connections with mentors and colleagues in the legal community, setting them up for success in the profession.

Already our students provide legal assistance to entrepreneurs, early-stage businesses, and non-profit organizations through the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic (ELC), where they work under the supervision of volunteer lawyers to provide legal information related to entity formation, employment and hiring, intellectual property, consumer privacy, and commercial transactions. The demand for services far outweighs what the ELC can currently provide. Imagine what could be achieved if the clinic was able to provide support to every entrepreneur who seeks assistance!

Through continuing to expand on experiential learning opportunities we are ensuring the lawyers of tomorrow graduate with hands-on experience, and an understanding of the importance of service to the broader community.
