Information sessions
We host multiple information sessions for prospective residents. Please check back regularly as new session dates will be added.
Program orientation
We hold orientation and information sessions during the CaRMS interview period. Candidates will meet with the program director and explore everything they need to know about residency at the ß÷ßäÉçÇø.
Candidates offered an interview will be emailed an invitation to RSVP for an orientation/information session.
Family Medicine CaRMS 2025 Round 1 Interviews

International Medical Graduates
International Medical Graduates who wish to apply for residency in ß÷ßäÉçÇø must first apply to the ß÷ßäÉçÇø International Medical Graduate (AIMG) Program. If found eligible, they may apply for residency at the U of A.
If approved, eligibility is valid only for the specified match year. Please visit the for details on deadlines, eligibility criteria and the application process.
Candidates invited for interviews will be emailed directly with an opportunity to schedule their interviews from the available dates. All interviews will be conducted virtually.
Notification and Invitation
The program will notify all applicants through CaRMS Online and will send email invitations directly to applicants selected for an interview.
An interview gives applicants the chance to meet with an interview team and share why they want to train at the U of A and their passion for family medicine. Applicants will also get to ask questions about our program to decide if it’s the best fit for them.
